Therapeutic Approach

As a Counselling Psychologist, I rely on evidence-based research to inform my practice. I work from a strengths-based, client-led approach. My belief is that each client is an expert on themselves. Psychotherapy therefore requires an agreement from both parties on the therapeutic goals, the agenda, and the interventions. My work is a collaborative process between myself and my clients.

All my therapeutic interventions are grounded in Rogers' person-centred therapy, which focuses on a strong therapeutic bond and a non-judgmental, genuine, and empathic attitude. I am trained as an integrative psychotherapist and will therefore use interventions from psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), existential therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and various other therapeutic modalities. Each client case is conceptualised based on the individual, their life history and their presenting issue(s).

I endeavour to tailor all interventions based on the needs of the client. There is no 'one size fits all model'. Therapy will be specific to your presenting issue and strengths.
